Abstract: The article reports on a study which examines the association between sex differences, self concept of performance, and mother and teacher perceptions of ability in middle childhood in Great Britain. A total of 106 families with children aged between nine and 15 were the subject of the study. Findings of the study highlighted the complex nature of sex differences in academic self conceptions.
