The article offers information on the effect of lowering low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol with simvastatin and ezetimibe, in patients with chronic kidney disease, with the Study of Heart and Renal Protection (SHARP) trial. It states that 4650 patients received simvastatin and ezetimibe, while 4620 received placebo. It mentions that there was a reduction in LDL cholesterol, with reduction in atherosclerotic events. |
