Abstract: The article presents the author's comments on the paper of Jane Simms on the formulation and framework of the person-centred approach. The author explains that the person-centred approach focused on the unique being, capacity, and personal needs of a whole person. The author remarks that Simms' assertion on the use of the descriptive, prescriptive and predictive elements in a case formulation to guide therapy and support the development of the therapeutic relationship fails to note that the literature is somewhat pejorative and derives primarily from psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural standpoints. The author also mentions that Simms is right in stating that the person-centred approach has a clear theory of personality.
