The article presents a case study of a 10-year-old girl with severe homozygous sickle-cell disease. The patient undergone cryopreservation of ovarian tissue before a myeloablative conditioning regiment followed by allogeneic haemopoietic stem-cell transplantation. The author talks about the significance of cryopreservation of ovarian tissues before sterilising treatment in preserving ovarian function. |
