Abstract: Assesses the quality of attachment relationships in adoptive and non-adoptive mother-infant using data from two separate samples with the Strange Situation paradigm. Absence of differences in mother-infant attachment between nonadopted and intraracial adopted subjects; Higher insecure attachment in interracial adoptive mother-infant pairs; Higher incidence of psychological problems among middle childhood adoptees.
