| Abstract: | The article presents the case studies of a 39-year-old male who was admitted to the medical withdrawal unit for detoxification of opioids and alcohol. The patient was suffering from pain associated with a cystic kidney disease. He was prescribed various opiates through his family physician and latter through a pain specialist. |
