Abstract: The article presents information on a study of carotid intima-media thickness (ciMT) progression for the prediction of cardiovascular events. The method of meta-analysis of the data of individual participants and a follow up of the participants for myocardial infarction, stroke or death is used in the study. 1519 myocardial infarctions, 1339 strokes, and 2028 combined endpoints occurred during a follow-up of seven years.
