Abstract: The article presents a case study of a 40-year-old cocaine-dependent African American woman who has been snorting cocaine four to five times per week for the past 30 days. It states that the patient was recruited to join a clinical trial that included cocaine self-administration in a laboratory setting. It notes that the patient experienced shakes consistent with having tactile hallucinations after periods of drug abstinence. The role of sensitization in drug abuse is also emphasized.
