| Abstract: | The authors discuss the burden of chronic noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) of the world. They mention that NCDs were perceived as problems of high-income countries with large ageing populations, however, LMICs are facing NCD burden regardless the wealth or the ageing population. They state that the articles in the special issue of Ethnicity and Health demonstrate the importance of culture, and ethnicity in multi-level responses to chronic conditions. |
