Suggests that organs derived from the same germ layer express common germ-layer-specific antigens. Mesodermal autoimmunity and systemic lupus erythematosus; Mesodermal-endodermal autoimmunity; Addison's disease; Ectodermal autoimmunity; Guillian-Barre syndrome.
