| Abstract: | In this article the authors discuss the role that social workers can play in helping to end food insecurity in the U.S. and ensuring that needy families gain access to food stamps and food related programs and services. They are critical of initiatives and legislation which have reduced access to food stamps in the U.S. and are supportive of having social workers advocate for food related federal programs and support rights based organizations which address hunger and food insecurity. |
