Abstract: The authors discuss aspects of the correlation between adverse life events and physiological status in a large population-based cohort study. They are critical on the environmental factors suggested in developmental biology which shows an altered disease risk in adulthood. Also mentioned is the impact on serious mental illnesses (SMI) to reduce the life span of patients.
