Abstract: The article reports on research efforts at Cornell University in New York City into the composting of deer killed as roadkill. The author states that the Waste Management Institute at Cornell is evaluating the effectiveness of composting deer carcasses using wood chips. The author states that increasing numbers of roadkill incidents in New York State have necessitated a coordinated government initiative. The researchers are conducting roadkill workshops with the New York Department of Transportation.
