Abstract: The article presents discussion regarding the implications of the U.S. Common Core educational standards on school library categorization practices. The author highlights areas where existing library terminology is problematic when considering the inclusive content of the Core standards. Particular attention is given to the role of "nonfiction" resources in school libraries.
