| Abstract: | The article presents a literary analysis of Maqroll, El Gaviero, a fictitious character in the literary work of Colombian author Álvaro Mutis. The author discusses the alter ego relationship between Mutis and Maqroll, as well as the interconnection of different works written by Mutis. Details related to the allegory of Maqroll as a centaur and the symbolic significance of the character is also discussed, in addition to themes of pain, death, and travel. |
