Abstract (English): Objective. In Colombia, the violation of human rights since sexual violence has been a constant. This type of violence has been potentiated and made invisible in the context of the armed conflict in the country. This research seeks to understand the conceptualization of sexual violence by women victims of the armed conflict, in order to make their voices known for the clarification of truth and reparation. Method. The study is carried out under the qualitative methodology which makes it possible to analyze the context, identify the phenomenon and understand the meaning that the social actors print to their actions and to the lived reality. Information was collected through indepth interviews to find out the personal stories of the victims, 21 in-depth interviews were conducted and a focus group with 13 victims in the North- Western and Caribbean regions. Conclusion. The victims do not conceive a unique definition of sexual violence, for them there are different types and definitions of it, which are directly related to their feelings and the meaning they have attributed to their experience in the multiplicity of sexual assaults.
