Abstract (English): The European Union (EU) has been a strong defender of the peace process and agreement in Colombia. After long years of cooperation, it signed the free trade agreement with the Andean country in 2012 and in December 2016 it launched the European Peace Fund with an initial € 127 million. Between 2016 and Colombia, it has been the subject of many expectations, but also concerns, among them, the slow implementation of the agreement, the incessant political violence (especially against demobilized and alternative leaders), the dispute over territories and routes between criminal gangs and drug traffickers, political polarization and repression in social mobilizations. The post-agreement during the pandemic has been far from the desired peace and international partners are confronted with the tension derived from their support for agreements implemented by government actors who do not believe in them. Abstract (Spanish): La Unión Europea (UE) ha sido un firme defensor del proceso y acuerdo de paz en Colombia. Tras largos años de cooperación, firmó el acuerdo del libre comercio con el país andino en 2012 y en diciembre de 2016 lanzó el Fondo Europeo para la Paz con 1 27 millones de euros iniciales. Entre 2016 y Colombia ha sido objeto de muchas expectativas, pero también de preocupaciones, entre ellas, la lenta aplicación del acuerdo, la incesante violencia política (especialmente en contra de desmovilizados y liderazgos alternativos), la disputa por territorios y rutas entre bandas delictivas y narcotraficantes, la polarización política y la represión en las movilizaciones sociales. El post-acuerdo durante la pandemia ha estado lejos de la anhelada paz y los socios internacionales se ven confrontados a la tensión derivada de su apoyo a unos acuerdos implementados por actores gubernamentales que no creen en ellos.
