| Abstract (English): | As of March 2020, the collective, planetary, practically instantaneous experience of the pandemic generates an emotional interdependence. Probably an unprecedented moment of human community in which suffering is not divided by countries or social strata. The first voluntarist conclusions about the Copernican turn that this collective pathos would provoke in international relations seem already in 2021 misguided. There has been neither an increase in altruism nor a disappearance of realism in international relations, and if some pre-pandemic trends have lessened, others have been rekindled. | Abstract (Spanish): | A partir de marzo de 2020, la vivencia colectiva, planetaria, prácticamente instantánea, de la pandemia genera una interdependencia emocional. Probablemente un momento inédito de comunidad humana en la que el padecer no se parcela por países ni estratos sociales. Las primeras conclusiones voluntaristas sobre el giro copernicano que este pathos colectivo provocaría en las relaciones internacionales parecen ya en 2021 desencaminadas. No ha habido un incremento del altruismo ni una desaparición del realismo en las relaciones internacionales y si se han atenuado algunas tendencias previas a la pandemia, otras se han reavivado.
