Abstract (English): The domestic service in Early Modern Age concerned specially women, in particular young women, being a key element of economy. However, it marked also the lives of a section of female population in its formative phase, and therefore it had a sociocultural meaning: it must be appreciated as an economic as long as educational fact, althought there is no bibliography about it. This paper analyzes the service contracts kept in the notarial archive of the city of Seville in a serial way to find shared parameters, in order to understand the relevance of domestic service in Sevillian society, the role that it developed in economy and the education of women. The profit that masters, maids and guardians got was far away from an exchange of service and rather resulted in a female education model and an extended concept of family. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
