Abstract (English): The article "Migrations and Displacements" analyzes the relationship between Latin America and the Caribbean with processes of population mobility. It mentions Latin American emigration to the United States and Europe, as well as massive migratory flows within the region. It also highlights internal displacement associated with armed conflicts, such as in the case of Colombia. The article discusses inequality in the international division of labor as a factor that motivates migrations and raises the need for transformative social policies and respect for human rights in the context of migrations. Additionally, it evaluates the actions of social organizations and foundations to address the needs of the migrant population in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, and in Imperial Valley, California. It also analyzes the Venezuelan migration crisis in Colombia and the institutional and legal capacity to confront it. The article reflects on the moral and ontological foundations of contemporary Western society in relation to migration, and addresses the issue of forced internal migration in Colombia and the labor integration of undocumented Colombians in Paterson, New Jersey. Finally, it discusses discrimination against Venezuelans in Colombia and analyzes the Cartagena Declaration on Refugees and the Venezuelan migration crisis. [Extracted from the article]
Abstract (Spanish): El artículo "Migraciones y desplazamientos" analiza la relación de América Latina y el Caribe con los procesos de movilidad poblacional. Se menciona la emigración latinoamericana hacia Estados Unidos y Europa, así como los flujos migratorios masivos dentro de la región. También se destaca el desplazamiento interno asociado a conflictos armados, como en el caso de Colombia. Se discute la desigualdad en la división internacional del trabajo como un factor que motiva las migraciones y se plantea la necesidad de políticas sociales transformadoras y el respeto a los derechos humanos en el contexto de las migraciones. Además, se evalúan las acciones de las organizaciones sociales y fundaciones para atender las necesidades de la población migrante en Mexicali, Baja California, México y en Imperial Valley, California. También se analiza la crisis migratoria venezolana en Colombia y la capacidad institucional jurídica para enfrentarla. Se reflexiona sobre las bases morales y ontológicas de la sociedad occidental contemporánea en relación con la migración, y se aborda el tema de la migración forzada interna en Colombia y la inserción laboral de los colombianos indocumentados en Paterson, New Jersey. Por último, se discute la discriminación hacia los venezolanos en Colombia y se analiza la Declaración de Cartagena sobre los Refugiados y la crisis migratoria venezolana.
