| Abstract (English): | This work opens a research vein unexplored so far in Spain, such as the origin of the consumption of psychoactive substances in rural areas of Avila, focusing attention on the case of the middle Alberche Valley. Based on the scarce existing literature and on a series of interviews with former users, this study explores this issue with three objectives in mind. First, to review the role of residential tourism and military service in the diffusion of the urban rock subculture, understood as the matrix of local drug consumption. Second, to account for the changes in behavior and style that this subculture introduced, evidencing its role as an inducer of drug use. Third, to outline the uses and identify the main trade niches of the three favorite substances of the alberchano rockers: alcohol, hashish and heroin. The work ends with a section of conclusions with the aim of outlining an agenda for future studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
