| Abstract (English): | The article analyzes the novel "Pasión y muerte del cura Deusto" by Augusto D'Halmar, which takes place in Seville and follows the story of the priest Íñigo Deusto. The contrast between the north and south of Spain is highlighted through the protagonist's perspective. The article also analyzes the relationship between Deusto and Pedro Miguel, an altar boy who helps him get to know the city. Despite their initial differences, the religious men manage to coexist until Pedro Miguel distances himself from the church and becomes involved in the bohemian life of Seville, generating a conflict with Deusto. The novel does not allow for a happy ending for the protagonists. [Extracted from the article] |
