Abstract (English): The article focuses on the life and contributions of Professor Marshall Joseph Becker, who passed away on November 27, 2024, at the age of 86. Becker was a prominent archaeologist and academic who dedicated much of his career to the study of the classic Maya metropolis of Tikal in Guatemala, as well as other Maya sites. His work included the identification of architectural and ritual patterns, as well as research on burials and ritual deposits, resulting in more than 500 publications.
