It argues that food practices were not only essential for the physical maintenance of families but also served as identity markers in interreligious contexts, where women played a crucial role in the transmission of cultural and religious traditions. Through documentary examples, it illustrates how converso Jewish and Moorish women used their food agency to resist cultural assimilation and maintain their religious identities in a hostile environment.
