| Abstract (English): | This article analyses the imaginaries of femininity projected in mass culture through the study of Spanish cinema during the years of the Second Republic. Its aim is to examine the gender discourses projected from one of the most popular media during a period when gender identities were the subject of public debate. | Abstract (Spanish): | El artículo analiza los imaginarios sobre la feminidad que se mostraron en la cultura de masas a partir del estudio del cine español durante los años de la Segunda República. Su objetivo es ver los discursos de género que se proyectaron desde uno de los medios de comunicación más populares en una cronología en la que las identidades de género fueron objeto de debate en la esfera pública. Los cines proyectaron una variedad de feminidades, entre las que convivieron mujeres que cargaban con el peso de la honra con concepciones sobre la feminidad mucho más modernas y rupturistas.
