| Abstract (English): | The article focuses on the wine sector of the province of La Rioja, Argentina, analyzing its challenges, opportunities, and support policies in a context of structural heterogeneity. Empirical data is presented on the configuration of the sector, characterizing its actors and documenting the policies implemented in the last decade. Despite structural problems such as high logistical costs and resource scarcity, opportunities are identified to improve productive and commercial integration at both national and international levels, especially through organic production and wine tourism. Guidelines are suggested to strengthen the sector, emphasizing the need for contextualized and segmented productive policies. [Extracted from the article] |
| Abstract (Spanish): | Desde una perspectiva estructuralista, este trabajo aporta nuevos datos empíricos sobre la configuración de uno de los sectores productivos más relevantes de la provincia de La Rioja (Argentina): el sector vitivinícola. Se ofrece una caracterización de los actores del sector y se detectan desafíos y oportunidades. Además, se documentan y clasifican las políticas de apoyo implementadas en la última década y se sugieren lineamientos de mejora, ya que, en un contexto de heterogeneidad estructural, es necesario reforzar un conjunto de empresas, instituciones y políticas. Dadas las condiciones agroclimáticas, las capacidades empresariales y la solidez e historia institucional de la provincia, así como las oportunidades de mercado existentes, la vitivinicultura tiene potencial para mejorar su inserción productiva y comercial a nivel nacional e internacional mediante políticas productivas contextualizadas, de amplio alcance y segmentadas.
