Abstract (English): The book *"Marian Devotion and the Prominence of Women in the Middle Ages"* analyzes how the rise of the cult of the Virgin Mary between the 12th and 13th centuries was a key factor in the symbolic, spiritual, and cultural revaluation of women in medieval Christian Europe. Based on the notion of the “feminine genius” proposed by John Paul II in *Mulieris dignitatem*, the author examines female complementarity and dignity, highlighting the active integration of women in the ministry of Christ and their spiritual prominence during the Middle Ages. Furthermore, the study critically addresses problematic aspects such as androcentrism and includes an analysis of the aesthetic and architectural dimension of Marian devotion, exemplified by the Cathedral of Chartres. The book offers a broad interpretation that links theology, history, art, and anthropology to reconsider the Middle Ages as a complex period in which Marian devotion influenced culture and female leadership.
