Reno argues that the decline of the "strong gods"—understood as objects of collective love such as truth, homeland, and family—has led to a society that favors weak loves and truths, threatening the Western tradition. The author links this phenomenon to the emergence of populist leaders who reject postwar liberalism, exemplified by the figure of Donald Trump, and proposes recovering authentic values such as national sovereignty and honor.
