| Abstract (English): | In the second half of the 17 century, the presence of women in the business world was not merely passive, as subjects of marital strategies, but active by necessity or inclination, this being an area in which there was no legal impediment to their participation. There is documentary evidence of their activity in relation to the Carrera de Indias, especially in notarial deeds, whether direct trade or various financial activities such as loans or marine insurance. In this work we have focused on the activity of Mrs. Feliciana Pot de Lima, as with Flemish and Castilian ancestry related to such businesses, which she herself carried out until her death at the beginning of the 18th century and we have had as our main source the notarial protocols of the city of Seville, deposited in the Provincial Historical Archive of Seville.
