| Abstract: |
The article discusses when media outlets play a large role in the outcome of political campaigns. In the 2006 Mexican presidential elections, one of the most highly contested elections in the country's history, was highly influenced by the contributions of mass media. This particular election turned out to be one of the most costly in Mexican history with a budget of over $12 billion pesos being spent. Throughout the campaigns, voters were highly influenced by both television, radio, and newspapers, making them one of the principal fountains of information for the public. |
