The article discusses the role of universities in the development of citizenship and analyzes several different alternatives that are being studied. According to Pablo Estrella of the Universidad de Cuenca, universities are, in effect, a learning ground for practical culture as it promotes education helps in human development. Yet another states that Latin American identity is unarticulated as the two dominant cultures (western and popular) have been at odds with each other for too long for both to form a cohesive culture. |
