| Abstract: | This article focuses on the innovations associated with Web 2.0 technologies and their relevance for knowledge management practices, particularly in media organizations. The author considers the implications of Web 2.0 tools and practices for the creation and transmission of knowledge, paying special attention to the impact of blogs and wikis, and citing Don Tapscott, author of "Wikinomics." The obstacles and opportunities these innovations present for traditional business practices, and the role and influence of the younger "Net Generation" in addressing them are discussed. The author explores the implications of Web 2.0 for what he terms "Knowledge Management 2.0." |
