Abstract: The article focuses on the religious dimension of motion pictures and the promotion of spirituality in films carried out by Roman Catholic organizations in Mexico. The author discusses the attention to spirituality in motion pictures, considers the depiction of Jesus Christ in film and comments on the use of film in debates about religion and spirituality. He also mentions the workshops and activities carried out by the Roman Catholic organization SIGNIS México (affiliated with the World Catholic Association for Communication) and the Red de Cine y Espíritualidad (Film and Spirituality Netowrk) of OCLACC (Organización Católica Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Comunicación).
