| Abstract (English): | The uncertainly resulting from the financial crisis, the digital convergence and the weakening of the credibility of the press as the hegemonic communication media of reference, is causing debate and strategic change in information organizations worldwide. This research, carried out by a team of professors from the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL), in Ecuador, and the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, in Spain, studies the declarations of Mission and Corporate Social Responsibility of the publishers of the most important Spanish and Latin American newspapers. Esta investigación, realizada por un equipo de profesores de la Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL) de Ecuador y de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela en España, revisa los conceptos y declaraciones de misión y Responsabilidad Social Corporativa de las empresas editoras de los principales diarios iberoamericanos.
