Abstract (English): The uncertainly resulting from the financial crisis, the digital convergence and the weakening of the credibility of the press as the hegemonic communication media of reference, is causing debate and strategic change in information organizations worldwide. This research, carried out by a team of professors from the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL), in Ecuador, and the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, in Spain, studies the declarations of Mission and Corporate Social Responsibility of the publishers of the most important Spanish and Latin American newspapers. Abstract (Spanish): La incertidumbre provocada por la crisis financiera, la convergencia digital y el debilitamiento de la credibilidad de la prensa como medio de comunicación hegemónico de referencia, está provocando grandes debates y movimientos estratégicos en el corazón de las organizaciones informativas de casi todo el mundo. Esta investigación, realizada por un equipo de profesores de la Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL) de Ecuador y de la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela en España, revisa los conceptos y declaraciones de misión y Responsabilidad Social Corporativa de las empresas editoras de los principales diarios iberoamericanos. Abstract (Portuguese): A incerteza provocada pela crise financeira, a convergência digital e da erosão do credibilidade da imprensa e referência mídia hegemônica, está causando muita discussão e movimentos estratégicos no coração da maioria das organizações de notícias do mundo. Esta pesquisa, conduzida por uma equipe de professores da Universidade Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL) do Equador ea Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, na Espanha, analisa os conceitos e as declarações de missão e responsabilidade social corporativa dos editores das principais Jornais latino-americanos.
