Abstract: El artículo considera las políticas de inmigración y el desarrollo desigual entre el Norte y el Sur de Europa a fines del siglo 20. Se analizan las tendencias migratorias en los años 1990, citando la influencia de las guerras en África y en Yugoslavia y las situaciones económicas de Albania y la Unión Soviética. Se examina el impacto económico de la estrategia del codesarrollo, una noción en que al trabajar en un país extranjero, los inmigrantes ayudan el desarrollo de sus países de origen.
