Abstract: The article focuses on the Display Stream Compression Standard being developed by the Video Electronics Standards Association for a visually lossless display stream coding system to be used for the compression of high-bandwidth display data streams. It mentions that the coding system will increase pixel rates and save system power. It also reflects on the selection of a coding system baseline and strategies to evaluate the coding system for consumer electronics and commercial displays.
