| Abstract: |
A hybrid material [VO( mpamp )]-Y (where, mpamp = 2,2′-((1 E ,1′ E )-((methylenebis-(4,1- phenylene))bis(azanylylidene))bis(methanylylidene))diphenol)) has been synthesized by the fabrication of metal complex inside the nanopores of zeolite-Y via Flexible Ligand approach. Elemental analysis, ICP-OES, BET, FT-IR, UV–Vis, TGA/DTG, SEM, and XRD confirm the immobilization and well-distribution of metal complex, as well as the preservation of zeolite-Y framework after formation of the guest complex inside cavities of the host. Hybrid material [VO( mpamp )]-Y have been tested as heterogeneous catalyst in the Baeyer-Villiger (B-V) oxidation of cyclic ketones and demonstrates worthy catalytic performance by providing high TONs. Reaction parameters were also checked to enhance the catalytic performance for the maximum oxidation. The probable mechanism for the cyclopentanone oxidation has been proposed with the help of in - situ IR spectroscopy. Moreover, in four consecutive reaction cycles, the catalyst recovery was in excess of 81%, while the substrate conversion slightly decreases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
