Abstract: The article focuses on the establishment of the Office of Mine Safety and Health (OMSH) by the Mine Improvement and New Emergency Response Act (MINER Act) of 2006. The OMSH functions as the Office of Mine Safety and Health Research (OMSHR) within the U.S. National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).
