| Abstract: | A method for determining the reliability for k-out-of-n systems with variable demand is presented. The k-out-of-n system reliability analysis assumes a system that is operational when at least k out of n components in a system is functioning. Works in this area also address systems where each component has a weight and the system has a required demand. In such, the system is functional if the sum of the weights of operational components meets the demand. This article proposes an approach to analyze the reliability of a system with functional redundancy amongst weighted components and variable demand. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
