Abstract: The voltage coefficient of compressed gas capacitors is a relevant parameter in high-voltage calibrations. These capacitors, used as standards, are calibrated at low voltages so that it is necessary to know their variation when they are used at high voltages. Although several methods have been proposed to determine that coefficient, their implementation is very difficult. In this paper, a simplified method that does not need any special equipment is proposed, so that it is easy to carry out for most high-voltage laboratories. It only requires geometric data on the radius of the electrodes and the mass of the internal ones but it is not necessary to know them with high accuracy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
