| Abstract: | The problem of the precision of pyrometric measurements, associated with the convergence of readings of various pyrometers was examined. Readings in practice of pyrometric measurements of the overestimation of the measured temperature and a divergence of readings of various pyrometers are theoretically justified. One reason for the divergence of readings is the usage of an approximation calculation of the relationship for reduced emissivity in the equation of pyrometric measurement. The conditions for application of the specified equation are formulated. Calculation data of the effect of reduced emissivity on observed data are given, and practical recommendations for enhancing the precision of pyrometric measurements are made.
