Alleged difficulties in attraction and retention of researchers, interns, and graduate students are described, the mission and philosophy of the lab to advance the prominence of Arabic-language computer science research is outlined, and information is offered on the establishment of scientific advisory committees on topics including artificial intelligence, social computing, and Arabic language technologies.
