| Abstract: |
Forest cableway system have been used for a long time, providing the advantages of lower damage to the transported material, as well as reduced impact to the soil, seedbed or other nearby trees. In addition, since the road infrastructure is reduced, the exploitation cost is lower compared to the conventional approach. A forest cableway is modeled using the Matlab – Simulink environment and the performance of the system is estimated based on a set of requirements in order to determine the necessary power levels for different working scenarios. The main requirements of the forest cableway are established from an existing system that needs to be improved. Based on these results the mechanic and electric components of a new forest cableway system can be determined. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
