Abstract:	The article presents a discussion related to data acquisition and conversion. Data acquisition and conversion pertain to the generation of signals from sensors, their conditioning, and their conversion into a digital format. In this article, the authors describe typical sensors that generate signals and examples of data converter topologies suitable for sensor interfaces. The authors restrict themselves to integrated implementations of sensors and sensor interface circuits. In particular, they target sensors and sensor interfaces that are compatible with CMOS fabrication technologies.
