Abstract: In this manuscript, production of 201TlCl, one of the radiopharmaceuticals used in the field of nuclear medicine for diagnostic purposes in heart, muscle, thyroid gland imaging, and cancer diagnosis, at Turkish Energy Nuclear and Mineral Research Agency is described. The production process starts with a cyclotron type proton accelerator operated in energy range of 15–30 MeV with beam intensities up to 1200 μA currently available at the facility. The production is detailed along with the main lines in the other steps. In addition to the radiopharmaceutical productions carried out according to international standards at the facility, new projects are planned in the short and long terms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
