Sustainability in food supply chains (FSCs) is crucial due to its impact on environmental, economic, and social dimensions. This review analyses closely the complex interaction between carbon price and sustainability in the entire food supply chain. It gives a thorough assessment of the intricate linkages between carbon pricing mechanisms and ethical business practices in the food sector. Through interesting case studies on carbon emission reduction, the first portion investigates regional implementations of carbon pricing mechanisms, such as carbon taxes and cap-and-trade systems. It also discusses ecologically friendly ways of food production, processing, packaging and transportation, illustrating how carbon prices have a considerable impact on plans for emission reduction and drive innovation. This study also analyses the social and economic consequences of carbon pricing on the food sector by assessing consumer behavior, job creation possibilities, and economic restrictions. Concerns about equality and social justice brought up by carbon pricing measures are also addressed. In addition, this provides a full review of extant policies, their efficacy, highlights the vital function of carbon price, advocates group activities and proposals for enhancing sustainability in the business.
