Abstract (English): The workshop "Recycling with Science" is part of a social project implemented in a rural community in the state of Yucatán, Mexico, aimed at secondary school students. The objective of the workshop is to promote academic learning and the integral development of students by developing competencies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), applying project-based learning and the principles of computational thinking. The methodology employed is descriptive, with an experimental design of a mixed approach. In the workshop, both connected and unplugged computational thinking were implemented to build simple robotic devices using recycled materials. Students modeled their projects on the functioning of Lego EV3 robots and designed prototypes of mechanical carts. This practical and collaborative approach allowed students to effectively understand and apply STEM concepts, while also promoting creativity and teamwork. Additionally, the workshop encouraged the development of social skills and environmental awareness, which are essential for the integral development of students and their community. The results indicate that the combination of connected and unplugged activities is effective in teaching complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner, benefiting both academic learning and the personal growth of the students. Abstract (Spanish): El taller "Reciclaje con Ciencia" forma parte de un proyecto social implementado en una comunidad rural del Estado de Yucatán, México, dirigido a estudiantes de secundaria. El objetivo del taller es fomentar el aprendizaje académico y la formación integral de los estudiantes mediante el desarrollo de competencias en Ciencia, Tecnología, Ingeniería y Matemáticas (STEM), aplicando el aprendizaje basado en proyectos y los principios del pensamiento computacional. La metodología empleada es descriptiva, con un diseño experimental de enfoque mixto. En el taller se implementó el pensamiento computacional conectado y desconectado para construir dispositivos robóticos simples utilizando materiales reciclados. Los estudiantes tomaron como modelo el funcionamiento de los robots Lego Ev3 y diseñaron prototipos de carritos mecánicos. Este enfoque práctico y colaborativo permitió a los estudiantes comprender y aplicar conceptos STEM de manera efectiva, promoviendo además la creatividad y el trabajo en equipo. Adicionalmente, el taller incentivó el desarrollo de habilidades sociales y la conciencia ambiental, esenciales para el desarrollo integral de los estudiantes y su comunidad. Los resultados indican que la combinación de actividades conectadas y desconectadas es efectiva para enseñar conceptos complejos de una manera accesible y atractiva, beneficiando tanto el aprendizaje académico como el crecimiento personal de los estudiantes.
