| Abstract: | The adhesive structure is a common connection, which has the advantages of high stiffness and no damage to the adhesive parts. However, in practical engineering, the adhesive structure will produce creep, resulting in the reduction of the strength and elastic modulus of the structure, which will affect the stability and reliability of the structure. The optimal adhesive layer thickness of 0.3 mm and ambient temperature of 30°C were determined for the adhesive single lap structure studied. The effects of creep on the strength and elastic modulus of adhesive structures at different stress levels were investigated under optimal adhesive layer thickness and ambient temperature. The strength of the non-creep test specimen was 1295.17 MPa, the bending modulus was 49.43 GPa, and the strength retention rates after 10 h of creep under different stress levels were 98.203, 96.015, 93.527, and 90.471%. The retention rates of elastic modulus were 97.571, 95.456, 92.802, and 89.923%. Finally, a theoretical model was established to analyze and predict the creep behavior of adhesive structures, and the fitting degree of more than 0.98 between the theoretical and experimental results was established. This research provides a broad application prospect for the design and manufacture of fuselage, body panel, chassis, and other structures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
