Abstract: Implementing computerized pharmacy information systems (PISs) has become increasingly important in enhancing healthcare delivery, particularly in pharmaceutical services. In Indonesia, especially within private hospitals located in rural regions, the integration of such digital systems faces both opportunities and challenges. Successful implementation depends largely on the acceptance and intention of end users – namely, pharmacy personnel. This study investigates the influence of perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEU) on pharmacy personnel's intention to use PISs, applying a modified Technology Acceptance Model 2 (TAM 2) framework. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among staff in ten private hospitals in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The study instrument was validated for reliability and relevance to the local context. Findings revealed that both PU and PEU positively affected users' behavioral intention to adopt the system, emphasizing the need to design user-centered, functionally beneficial digital tools to support pharmaceutical care. This research fills a critical gap in the literature by focusing on an underrepresented demographic and geographical context. The study contributes to both theory and practice by demonstrating the applicability of TAM 2 in pharmacy information systems and offering evidence-based insights to guide future digital health interventions in similar settings.
