| Abstract: |
Vortex beams find crucial applications in optical measurement. This work extends the number of measurable parameters and demonstrates a method for simultaneous and independent measurement of multiple parameters in compound motion target using vector vortex beams (VVBs). Based on the helical phase and vector polarization characteristics of VVBs, four parameters (the rotational velocity, translational velocity, rotation direction, and translation direction) of the compound motion can be detected. A proof of principle experiments validates the method, with results matching theoretical predictions. The proposed method enables multi-parameters simultaneous detection, and may become a significant impetus for the development of technologies such as autonomous driving. • Investigated the application of vector vortex beams (VVBs) in multidimensional measurements. • Proposed a method for simultaneous and independent measurement of multiple parameters of compound motion using VVBs. • Experimentally achieved four parameters for compound motion targets by incorporating rotational and linear Doppler effect.
